Hydrate poses a particular challenge in marginal field development owing to long tie-ins with short-lived production, often impacting overall production efficiency and project costs. In this session, NCS operators will present innovative hydrate management strategies explored and implemented aimed at unlocking production potential from marginal fields. The discussion will be tailored to be understandable for reservoir, production, and facilities engineers involved in field development or operating assets. Join us for a focused 2-hour webinar to gain insights into practical hydrate solutions deployed on the NCS that can enhance economic viability of marginal assets and deliver value in a challenging cost environment.

Agenda:
Opening statement: Objective and Agenda
-
-
- 1st Presentation: Alternative Flow Assurance Management Philosophy - Harbour Energy
The presentation is about flow assurance challenges for marginal and/or mature assets, using low dosage hydrate inhibitors of the anti-agglomerant (AA) type suitable for the NCS. Aspects of AA technology qualification and some results of field tests will be shared. - 2nd Presentation: Hydrate management for the future - Equinor
Live hydrate indicator models including MEG-tracking and our own developed Waterlock tool is how Equinor envisions hydrate management helping in unlocking production potential from marginal fields. - 3rd Presentation: AA feasibility work for water temperatures below 0 °C - Shell
Shell is doing feasibility work to use AA for Ormen Lange which has freezing ambient temperatures. This strategy can also unlock potential for marginal fields in subzero temperature conditions.
