Response to application – Storing Diskos data outside Norway

08/10/2019 In June 2019, the NPD applied for exemption from the Archive Law which says that all Diskos-data must be stored in Norway.

The NPD has now received the response from the National Archives and the conclusion is that such an exemption will not be granted at this point in time. This means that the Diskos RFP will specify that all data has to be stored in Norway. However, if a copy of Diskos is stored in Norway, for example by mirroring a service on Norwegian soil, cloud storage abroad will be within the current regulations.
