Dear FORCE members. It's been a while since our last christmas newsletter. And we do apologies for that. But we are back in 2025 with FORCE 30 year celebration and a brand new logo. Let's have a look at what 2025 gave us.

Greetings from the secretariat

2025 startet a little slow with the first event in february. But the network groups did great, and produced a totalt of 20 events, 9 webinars, 1 field trip, 2 lunch & learn, 4 1-day seminars and 4 2-day seminars. With a total of 1072 participants to the FORCE seminars. Se see a decrease in participation, and we are at out lowest since 2015. But, we are fewer member companies, and the adjustment from the pandemic has taken time to stabelize.

The big event of the year was of course the celebration of FORCE 30 years. We celebrated three decades of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation within the FORCE network. A huge thank you to our members and everyone who has contributed to shaping FORCE into what it is today. We couldn't do it without you. Thank you for all your hard work.
160 people participated at Stavanger Konserthus, and we has an amazing day with great presentations, panel discussions and entertainment.

Going forward with new logo!

Did you notice the new FORCE logo on the website? We were happy and proud to launch the new logo at the 30-year celebration event on October 23, to mark “a new era”, going forward towards the next 30. We want to continue the story, with a design communicating responsibility, innovation, sustainability and quality, with colours resembling ocean, sky, earth, and metals. The shape is the same but has been added a layer of associations. What do you see? Sky, ocean and seabed? Sediments? We’ll leave the interpretation up to you.
A new template for presentations is available at the website.

We also saw the start of a new network group. Under improved exploration comes Quality Assurance of Subsurface Evaluations. It grew quickly within a short time and has a total of 17 members. The chair for this group is Kjersti Breirem-Neumann from Equinor. If you are intereseted in joining this group just contact the secretariat.

For the first time in a few years, the field trip to Corinth in Greece had enough participants to go ahead with the trip. With Anders Finstad from Condedo and Einar Sverdrup from AkerBP as the organizers, they hosted a great trip with a total of 14 participants. They hope to repeat the sucess in 2026.

Corinth 1       Corinth 2

So, 2025 had many great events, and the secretariat i looking forward to helping our members with new and exciting events in 2026.
Thank you to all our members and everyone who works hard to make FORCE what it is.

Have a great christmas from the
FORCE Secretariat, Heidi, Linn, Stig Morten, Eli og Kristoffer

Greeting from Kent Høgseth, MC Chair

Dear FORCE colleagues,

Years go by – sometimes at the speed of a drilling report on a Friday afternoon – and at the end of yet another year, it’s worth pausing to reflect on where we are and how we got here.
All of us in the Management Committee are genuinely grateful for the dedication, energy and time you put into the FORCE cooperation. We know you do this voluntarily, on top of demanding day jobs, and for some of you, in addition to other professional and personal commitments as well.
Yet you still show up, prepare, contribute, and challenge. You are the backbone of the FORCE collaboration – without you, it would just be a logo, a website, and a few empty meeting rooms.

This year has been a real milestone for us all. We celebrated our 30-year anniversary with a fantastic event in Stavanger Konserthus. Many of you were there: you listened to engaging debates, met old and new colleagues, and shared a day (and a long evening!) together. The atmosphere, the conversations in the breaks, and the buzz in the room reminded us why FORCE exists in the first place.

We had an engaged audience, and you gave us both honest feedback and creative ideas. That combination is priceless. You can expect to see new initiatives and activities coming out of this – not because we need more meetings in our calendars, but because there is still so much knowledge to share and value to create together.

Looking ahead, the next 30 years in our industry are as uncertain as ever. If we have learned anything, it is that forecasts will be wrong – but the need for competence, collaboration, and curiosity will remain. In a challenging geopolitical climate, with energy security and transition high on the agenda, the work we do together in FORCE is as relevant as it has ever been.

We will continue to work together in FORCE – across companies and disciplines – for the benefit of the NCS and the advancement and renewal of our industry. The “FORCE” is, quite literally, strong because of you.

We can look back on a very good FORCE year, and we hope you also take a moment to feel proud of the part you have played in it. Now, we wish you all a peaceful, restorative, and enjoyable Christmas holiday – whether that means hitting the ski tracks, enjoying slow mornings with coffee, or simply closing your laptop for a while.

On behalf of the FORCE Management Committee,

Kent Høgeth
