27/08/2018 Director General Bente Nyland has received the ONS Distinguished Service Award 2018 for her significant efforts to develop the Norwegian oil and gas industry.

The award was presented during the ONS opening concert on Monday evening.

“Bente Nyland is a strategic leader with an exceptional ability to promote measures that ensure an attractive and competitive shelf, with focus on long-term resource management,” says Leif Johan Sevland, president and CEO for ONS.

“She has also been an important contributor to the growth and development of the ONS Foundation.”

Director General Bente Nyland says she is surprised and very happy to receive the award:

“I share this award with my very capable colleagues in the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate; they contribute to highlighting the important issues and the right messages,” she says.

“It is essential that the profitable socio-economic resources are safeguarded, while also having consideration for health, safety and the environment.”

This is the 12th time the ONS Foundation presents its distinguished service award. This distinction goes to a candidate who has made an exceptional effort to promote the Norwegian petroleum sector, both domestically and internationally. The candidate has also contributed to strengthening ONS’ reputation and has participated in activities during ONS.
