Consultation regarding index adjustment of area fee rates
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has sent a proposal for adjustment of the area fee rates for production licences awarded pursuant to the 1972 Resolution and the Petroleum Act out to concerned parties for consultation.
The point of departure for the adjustment is the Statistics Norway (SSB) consumer price index. The proposal is to adjust the rates in Section 39 (1) of the Petroleum Regulations by 11.49%, effective from 1 January 2019. The new rates are projected to increase:
- First year: from NOK 34 000 per km2 to NOK 38 000 per km2 per year
- Second year: from NOK 68 000 per km2 to NOK 76 000 per km2 per year
- Third year: from NOK 137 000 per km2 to NOK 153 000 per km2 per year
- Subsequent years: from NOK 137 000 per km2 to NOK 153 000 per km2 per year
