The tours of the Geobank were led by our skilled experts.

9/26/2025 At the end of September, the Norwegian Offshore Directorate participated in a brand-new festival at Ullandhaug - Ulltra 2025. Registered visitors had the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the Geobank in our offices.

In connection with the 900th anniversary of the City of Stavanger, the objective of the festival is to explore innovation and the technology of the future. The target audience is particularly the student, innovation and research community at Ullandhaug.

During the festival, we opened up the Geobank for visitors who signed up for exciting tours with our skilled experts as their guides. Here, guests could learn more about core samples, CO2 storage, seabed minerals and all kinds of developments on the Norwegian continental shelf. The tours lasted about one hour.

«It was a pleasure to welcome so many curious visitors interested in learning more about core samples, CO₂ storage, seabed minerals, and the broader scope of our work on the Norwegian continental shelf,» says Pia Winterkjær, who coordinated the Ulltra festival on behalf of the Sokkeldirektoratet.

In addition, the Norwegian Offshore Directorate, along with Energy Transition Norge, organised a network gathering of young professionals in the Stavanger area.
