Overview 2025-NOD-02 (english)

This summer, the Norwegian Offshore Directorate conducted a cruise in the Norwegian Sea and the Greenland Sea. The first part of the aquisition took place on the southwestern flank of the Knipovich Ridge, where both depth data and water column data were collected. The last two parts of the cruise took place in the Lofoten Basin.

The data collected there included depth data, water column data, gravimetric data and magnetic data. The completion of this cruise marks the mapping of an area totalling approx. 38 000 square kilometres, and the data collected is of good quality.

Depth data and water column data were made available on 15 September.

Gravimetric and magnetic data from the Lofoten Basin will be available when processing is finished.

You can also use our interactive map “Deep Sea Surveys” to get an overview of cruises and samples.
