The prospect form is updated

4/29/2026 The Norwegian Offshore Directorate has updated the prospect form for reporting prospects, leads and in some cases, discoveries.

The following changes have been made to the form:

  • Minor adjustments of field names in the form.
  • For leads, the pink cells must be filled out, as a minimum. Feel free to add additional information.
  • For prospects, you now need to submit a shapefile with three outlines: P90, Base (mode/mean) and P10.
  • For discoveries and leads, you only need to submit an outline for Base (mode/mean). It is important to ensure that the shapefile has the same name as the associated prospect form.

This form must be used both in connection with APAs and to report prospects when production licences are relinquished, in connection with drilling wells, and in other relevant instances.

You can find the new form here (Excel)
